Plural Grammar Rules

The plural is the form which refers to more than one object or person. For example: I speak two languages the plural here is [languages] because it refers to more than one [language]. The examples below use plurals in different ways and places to demonstrate how they look when converted from their singular form.

Grammar + Rules - Tamil + Pronunciation
I speak one language
[singular form] நான் ஒரு மொழி பேசுகிறேன் Audio [nān oru mozhi pesukiren]
we speak three languages
[plural noun] நாங்கள் மூன்று மொழிகளை பேசுகிறோம் Audio [nāngal moondru mozhikalai pesukirom]
he visits many countries
[adverb + plural noun] அவர் பல நாடுகளுக்கு செல்கிறார் Audio [avar pala nātukalukku selkirār]
they are happy now
[plural pronoun] அவர்கள் இப்போது சந்தோஷமாக இருக்கிறார்கள் Audio [avarkal ippodhu sandhoshamāka irukkirārkal]
she has five red shoes
[adjective + plural noun] அவள் ஐந்து சிவப்பு காலணிகள் வைத்திருக்கிறாள் Audio [aval aindhu sivappu kālanikal vaiththirukkirāl]
I want a sandwich without onions
[preposition + plural noun] எனக்கு வெங்காயம் இல்லாமல் ஒரு ரொட்டி வேண்டும் Audio [enakku vengāyam illāmal oru rotti ventum]
