Oriya Verbs

Verbs are used to express an action (I swim) or a state of being (I am). The present tense in Oriya conveys a situation or event in the present time. Here are some examples:

The past tense in Oriya conveys a situation or event in the past time. Here are some examples:

The future tense in Oriya conveys a situation or event which is anticipated to happen in the future. Here are some examples:

I will drink milk ମୁଁ କ୍ଷୀର ପିଇବି [mum̐ kṣīra pi'ibi]
you will drink coffee ତୁମେ କଫୀ ପିଇବ [tumē kaphī pi'iba]
