Plural Grammar Rules

The plural is the form which refers to more than one object or person. For example: I speak two languages the plural here is [languages] because it refers to more than one [language]. The examples below use plurals in different ways and places to demonstrate how they look when converted from their singular form.

Grammar + Rules - Malayalam + Pronunciation
I speak one language
[singular form] ഞാന്‍ ഒരു ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു Audio [ñane‍ oru bhasśe se'sareikku nenu]
we speak three languages
[plural noun] ഞങ്ങള്‍ മൂന്നു ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു Audio [ñeneneḷe‍ mu nenu bhasśe se'sareikku nenu]
he visits many countries
[adverb + plural noun] അദ്ദേഹം പല രാജ്യങ്ങള്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കുന്നു Audio [adedehe' pele rajeyeneneḷe‍ senedere‍ṣeikku nenu]
they are happy now
[plural pronoun] അവര്‍ സന്തുസ്ടരാ ണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ Audio [avere‍ senethu seṭera ṇe ipepoḷe‍]
she has five red shoes
[adjective + plural noun] അവള്‍ക്കു അഞ്ചു ചുവന്ന ഷൂസ് ഉണ്ട് Audio [aveḷe‍kku añechu chu venene sśu se uṇeṭ]
I want a sandwich without onions
[preposition + plural noun] ഉള്ളിയില്ലാത്ത സാണ്ട്വിച് വേണം Audio [uḷeḷeiyeilelathethe saṇeṭeveich veṇe']
