Belarusian Plural

Plural Grammar Rules

The plural is the form which refers to more than one object or person. For example: I speak two languages the plural here is [languages] because it refers to more than one [language]. The examples below use plurals in different ways and places to demonstrate how they look when converted from their singular form.

Grammar + Rules - Belarusian + Pronunciation
I speak one language [singular form] я размаўляю на адной мове [ya razmawlyayo na adnoy movye]
we speak three languages [plural noun] мы размаўляем на трох мовах [mi razmawlyayem na trokh movakh]
he visits many countries [adverb + plural noun] ён наведвае многія краіны [yon navyedvaye mnoguіya kraіni]
they are happy now [plural pronoun] яны шчаслівыя цяпер [yani shchaslіviya tzyapyer]
she has five red shoes [adjective + plural noun] у яе ёсць пяць чырвоных чаравікаў [oo yaye yostzʲ pyatzʲ chirvonikh charavіkaw]
I want a sandwich without onions [preposition + plural noun] я хачу бутэрброд без цыбулі [ya khachoo booterbrod byez tziboolі]

Emergency Phrases
