I would like to welcome you to the Egyptian lessons. I'm here to help you learn Egyptian, by going step by step. All the lessons contain audio and are all offered for free. We will learn the alphabet together. We will also review some simple grammar rules, practice common phrases, and we will have fun memorizing many important vocabulary lists, and everything else that you see below.

Egyptian Arabic
Variations:	[ˈmɑsˤɾi]‎, مصرى
Countries:	Egypt and understood by many Arab countries
Speakers:	60 million natives
Official in:	Egyptian is not an official language. It is a spoken dialect only.
Tips:	Among the spoken varieties of Arabic, the Egyptian dialect is the only one to have become a lingua franca in other parts of the Arabic-speaking world. People interested in speaking to individuals who speak Arabic, choose the Egyptian dialect. People who are interested in writing in Arabic, choose the Modern Standard Arabic.
