Amharic is the second most-spoken Semitic language in the world, after Arabic.
Amharic is written using Amharic Fidel, ፊደል, which grew out of the Ge'ez abugida-called, in Ethiopian Semitic languages, ፊደል fidel ("alphabet", "letter", or "character") and አቡጊዳ abugid.
