Persian Verbs
Welcome to the 10th lesson about verbs in Persian. We will first learn about the present tense, followed by the past tense, and future tense. We will also analyze some grammar rules, and finally practice how to ask for direction in Persian.
Verbs are used to express an action (I swim) or a state of being (I am). The present tense in Persian conveys a situation or event in the present time. Here are some examples:

| I speak English | من به زبان انگلیسی حرف می زنم  |
| you speak French | شما به زبان فرانسه حرف می زنید |
| he speaks German | او به زبان آلمانی حرف می زند |
| she speaks Italian | او به زبان ایتالیایی حرف می زند |
| we speak Arabic | ما به زبان عربی حرف می زنیم |
| they speak Chinese | آنها به زبان چینی حرف می زنند |
The past tense in Persian conveys a situation or event in the past time. Here are some examples:

| you visited Italy | شما از ایتالیا دیدن کردید |
| he visited Morocco | او از مراکش دیدن کرد |
| she visited China | او از چین دیدن کرد |

| they visited Kenya | آنها از کنیا دیدن کردند |
The future tense in Persian conveys a situation or event which is anticipated to happen in the future. Here are some examples:

| he will drink tea | او چای خواهد نوشید |
| she will drink water | او آب خواهد نوشید |

| they will drink tea | آنها چای خواهند نوشید |

Travel Phrases in Persian
Imagine yourself in some Persian speaking country. The following travel phrases are highly important and can help you avoid misunderstanding. Try to memorize them and practice!

| Where is the airport? | فرودگاه کجا است؟ |
| Go straight | مستقیم بروید |

| Turn left | بپیچید سمت راست |
| Turn right | بپیچید سمت چپ |
