I would like to welcome you to the Danish lessons. I'm here to help you learn Danish, by going step by step. All the lessons contain audio and are all offered for free. We will learn the alphabet together. We will also review some simple grammar rules, practice common phrases, and we will have fun memorizing many important vocabulary lists, and everything else that you see below.

Countries:	Denmark, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Norway, Iceland, Schleswig-Holstein (Germany)
Speakers:	5.6 million
Official in:	Denmark, Faroe Islands, European Union, Nordic Council
Tips:	Written Danish and Norwegian are particularly close, though the phonology and the prosody (the patterns of stress and intonation) differ somewhat. Proficient speakers of Danish, Swedish and Norwegian can generally understand the each other.
