I would like to welcome you to the Croatian lessons. I'm here to help you learn Croatian, by going step by step. All the lessons contain audio and are all offered for free. We will learn the alphabet together. We will also review some simple grammar rules, practice common phrases, and we will have fun memorizing many important vocabulary lists, and everything else that you see below.
You can either choose a random lesson below or start with me lesson by lesson. If so, let's start with the alphabet.
You can either pick a lesson from the table above, or read more about this beautiful language.

Standard and literary Croatian is based on the central dialect, Shtokavian (Štokavian), more specifically on Eastern Herzegovinian, which is also the basis of standard Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin.
Croatian is written in Gaj's Latin alphabet. Croatian, like most other Slavic languages, has a rich system of inflection. Pronouns, nouns, adjectives and some numerals decline (change the word ending to reflect case, i.e. grammatical category and function), while verbs conjugate for person and tense.
