Brazilian Verbs

Welcome to the 10th lesson about verbs in Brazilian. We will first learn about the present tense, followed by the past tense, and future tense. We will also analyze some grammar rules, and finally practice how to ask for direction in Brazilian.

Verbs are used to express an action (I swim) or a state of being (I am). The present tense in Brazilian conveys a situation or event in the present time. Here are some examples:

Present Tense - Brazilian
I speak English eu falo inglês Audio
you speak French você fala francês Audio
he speaks German ele fala alemão Audio
she speaks Italian ela fala italiano Audio
we speak Arabic nós falamos árabe Audio
they speak Chinese eles falam chinês Audio

The past tense in Brazilian conveys a situation or event in the past time. Here are some examples:

Past Tense - Brazilian
I visited France eu visitei a frança Audio
you visited Italy você visitou a itália Audio
he visited Morocco ele visitou marrocos Audio

we visited Mexico nós visitamos o méxico Audio

The future tense in Brazilian conveys a situation or event which is anticipated to happen in the future. Here are some examples:
