Plural Grammar Rules

The plural is the form which refers to more than one object or person. For example: I speak two languages the plural here is [languages] because it refers to more than one [language]. The examples below use plurals in different ways and places to demonstrate how they look when converted from their singular form.

Grammar + Rules - Japanese + Pronunciation
I speak one language
[singular form] 私は1つの言語を話します。 Audio [watashi wa hitotsu no gengo o hanashi masu]
we speak three languages
[plural noun] 私たちは3つの言語を話します。 Audio [watashi tachi wa mittsu no gengo o hanashi masu]
he visits many countries
[adverb + plural noun] 彼は多くの国を訪問します。 Audio [kare wa ooku no kuni o houmon shi masu]
they are happy now
[plural pronoun] 彼らは今、幸せです。 Audio [karera wa ima, shiawase desu]
she has five red shoes
[adjective + plural noun] 彼女は赤い靴を5足持っています。 Audio [kanojo wa akai kutsu o go soku mot te i masu]
I want a sandwich without onions
[preposition + plural noun] 私はタマネギ抜きのサンドイッチがほしいです。 Audio [watashi wa tamanegi nuki no sandoicchi ga hoshii desu]
