I would like to welcome you to the Kongo lessons. I'm here to help you learn Kongo, by going step by step. All the lessons contain audio and are all offered for free. We will learn the alphabet together. We will also review some simple grammar rules, practice common phrases, and we will have fun memorizing many important vocabulary lists, and everything else that you see below.

Tips:

Kongo is a tonal language and formed the base for Kituba, a Bantu creole and lingua franca throughout much of west central Africa.

At present there is no standard orthography of Kikongo, with a variety in use in written literature, mostly newspapers, pamphlets and a few books.
